FAQ
Class Setup
I used Schoology last year, how can I copy my old stuff to my new classes?
Go to your old class and open it. Click options, and choose "Save Course to Resources." I recommend you save it in your personal folder. Once everything is in your Personal Resources go to your new class and click add materials - import from resources. Click the resources you want to move over and push ok. I recommend linking your sections before you add old material to new classes.
What is linking sections?
If you teach more than hour of a prep, you can "link" you classes so everything you do for one section will automatically show on another - Gradebook / Assignment / Update / etc. This should make things a lot easier. To do this, click Course and under the options choose Link Section." You'll choose what section you want to link with another class.
How do I make my class active?
As soon as classes appear on TAC, they will show up on Schoology, however students will not see their classes until the start of the year. If you do not see your old classes, click Courses - See All - Archived. There you can backup the classes resources and load them into your new classes.
How do I hide things in my class?
When you create an item you have the ability to not publish it. It will appear as a checkbox at the bottom of the creation window. Once created you can change the availability to visible, hidden, after a date, or between specific dates.
Why can't I change the left side menu or color scheme?
For consistency the left menu and color scheme within Schoology cannot be edited.
Can I see exactly what the students see?
Yes, under the picture of your class you can choose "Course Options" and "View As." There you'll be able to choose to see exactly what a student or parent sees.
Can I rename my classes?
No, the class names are directly pulled from TAC and cannot be changed.
How are my classes created and kept up-to-date?
Master schedule class information and rosters are integrated with TAC. If a student drops in TAC, they will subsequently drop in Schoology. Same with the add.
